How to Make a Short Film , A Definitive Guide.

Making a short film is the best way to start your journey in film making. You are never too old to make a short film of your own.

Fake it Till You Make It, But Never Pretend.

If you haven't done anything yet, Just get started, and you'll be good on the run.
For your first few movies, don’t spend time worrying about lighting or special effects. Just learn how to utilize your limited resources and make something cool out of nothing.

AUDIENCE

You are not just going to simply make one and keep it with yourself or just participate in a film festival but there are many directories/websites to showcase your talent in film making.
YouTube and Vimeo are the most popular, they should always be the first place your Videos are viewed from.

WHAT'S THE GEAR?

Don't go on buying expensive camera equipments but start with what you already have in hands. well your first film is not going to be produced by any Hollywood co. so chill and just shoot with anything you have (this includes phone camera).

Again, making something is better than making nothing.

IDEA OF THE FILM

You should have an idea of before making or shooting any film.

Try making a story which can be filmed in or less than 3 minutes.
That will be a real good practice for sure, don't worry about things like how it will look or if the audience will understand it or not just make and publish it on the internet and accept criticism and learn from that.

DON'T RUSH THINGS

The biggest problem with most of the people are they want to become successful very quickly, and want to start making videos with huge hits but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. Focus on becoming GOOD first than focus on becoming SUCCESSFUL and that can take a many years of experience.

Remember, the more you make the better you become.

WATCH/ READ

Learn from your elders, listen to Hollywood people go find out more such amazing blogs/ websites read them out, watch movies as much as you can, award winning movie director's advice/ interviews/ lectures and everything that is available for you.

last but not the least,

above all, my suggestion is to just go out take your gear and shoot, that's the best source of learning, try editing yourself or call up your friend and you'll notice you are improving everyday.

Wrapping up here, see you till next time. Any question? leave your comments below.
